Privacy and cookies
How I use the information you leave on this website, in plain words.
This page explains, simply, what data I collect through this website, why I collect it, who I entrust it to and what your rights are. It applies to federicovalenzano.com and is written under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
1. Who handles your data
The data controller is Federico Valenzano, photographer, Corso Europa 122, 12051 Alba (CN), Italy · VAT no. IT03444980043.
For any question about privacy you can write to me at info@federicovalenzano.com: I reply personally.
2. What data I collect and why
Contact forms. When you write to me through the website I collect the details you enter: names, email, phone (optional), wedding date and place, number of guests, your message. I use them only to reply, check my availability and prepare a proposal. Legal basis: your request and pre-contractual steps (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). You also receive an automatic confirmation email with a summary of what you wrote.
The guide “Seven things nobody tells you”. If you ask for it, I collect your name and email to send it to you and, now and then, to share some advice or news about my work. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the “Unsubscribe” link in every email.
If you become my clients. The details needed for the contract and invoicing are processed to deliver the service and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6.1.b and 6.1.c GDPR).
Browsing data. Like every website, the server automatically records some technical data (IP address, browser, pages visited, date and time) for security and to keep the site working properly. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
3. Who I entrust your data to
I never sell or pass on your data to anyone. I only rely on the services needed to run the website and email, which process data on my behalf as data processors:
- Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd., Cyprus, EU): website hosting and mailbox.
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania, EU): sending the guide and emails to subscribers.
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd.): anonymous visit statistics with Google Analytics, only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
Some of these providers may transfer data outside the European Union: when they do, they use the safeguards required by the GDPR (adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).
4. How long I keep it
- Contact form enquiries: up to 24 months, if we don’t end up working together.
- Client data: for as long as the service requires, then 10 years, as Italian law requires for tax records.
- Guide subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Technical browsing data: only as long as strictly needed, usually a few months.
5. Cookies
The website uses technical cookies, needed for it to work (for example to remember your cookie choices): they don’t require consent.
With your consent it also uses Google Analytics statistics cookies, to understand in aggregate how many people visit the site and which pages they read. I don’t use profiling or advertising cookies.
On your first visit a banner asks what you want to accept. You can change your mind at any time, also from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page. The full, up-to-date list of cookies is in the preferences panel.
The website’s fonts are hosted on my own server: browsing it sends no data to Google Fonts.
6. Your rights
At any time you can ask me to:
- tell you what data I hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct or update it;
- delete it;
- restrict its processing, or object to it;
- send it to you in a readable format so you can take it elsewhere (portability);
- withdraw your consent, without affecting processing carried out before.
Just write to info@federicovalenzano.com. If you believe your data is being handled incorrectly, you can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
7. Changes
If I change the way I handle data, I’ll update this page. Last updated: October 2026.
